During bathing
1. Thoroughly wet your pet’s coat.

Step 4 Nail Care PURINA PETLIFE 4 Step Grooming Guide
Nail Clipping
Regular nail clipping prevents discomfort or pain for yourself and your pet.

Nail Filing
If neglected for a long time, your pet’s nails can splinter, break or even cause an infection. Nail filing can help prevent these problems from occurring.

Caring for your pet’s nails
1. Always locate quick first.
2. Hold your pet’s paw and nail firmly to prevent rotation of the nail when you clip.
3. Apply firm, smooth pressure on the tool to clip the nail evenly.

Tip
A bath can soften hard nails making them easier to trim.
